Are you fit to be a host? Ask yourself these questions:

  • Will you have enough time for hosting and providing care for the student during their entire stay?

  • Are you and your family ready to accept an international student into your home?

  • How will your schedule change? Are you ready for this change?

  • Will you be able to provide a police check?

  • Can you provide quality time and conversations with the student?

Expectations of a host:

  • A clean furnished bedroom with a bed, chair, desk and private storage (chest/ drawer/ closet)

  • 3 healthy nutritious meals per day Furnished room with window

  • Support, social interactions and supervision as you would normally do for a child

  • Host family support, social interactions, rules and adult supervision

  • Proximity to schools via public transportation

  • An English-friendly environment​

  • Have a successful background check
